Dream of the Red Chamber, comparative literature, translation, intercultural communication and contemporary Chinese literature. He has published 66 books and 33 translations, 33 papers in English and Chinese, and has successfully applied for 43 research grants (EU Horizon 2020, German National Science Council, Chinese Hanban, German Ministry of Science, European Science Foundation, etc.).

Awards

He was awarded the Chinese Friendship Prize 2020 and the "Desideratum" prize for the German-speaking region 2007, and was nominated for " Professor of 2019" in Germany.
